For more than a decade, Ballard Community Center has been providing a high quality early education program to families at a rate that is roughly half of the market cost.  For example, the average market rate for a preschool slot in Lawrence is $602 per month, Ballard’s fee has been $305 per month. For a Toddler, Ballard charges $320 per month, the average community slot is $620 per month.  Most of the families that Ballard works with cannot afford to pay the fees that are charged at other community based sites. That is why we are proposing to add an additional 88 slots for infants, toddlers and preschoolers at a new early learning center located on the corner of 4th and Florida streets in the Pinckney neighborhood in Lawrence. 
 
This new family centered early learning center is situated in a location that is convenient for employees and will be conducive to establishing partnerships with Lawrence employers.
